Veneto Hidden Corners: Ferdinando Vilan detto Jecky
For the weekly column “Veneto Hidden Corners“, the photographer Giovanni Vecchiato gives us exclusively for VS a shot dedicated to the top hidden beauties of Veneto.
Ferdinando Villan known as Jecky is a popular character in Chioggia and, if you are lucky enough to meet him, he absolutely deserves a good chat.
Globetrotter poker player, he lives in an old house in the historic center full of objects that tell his story and his aesthetic taste (the dining table has a coffin as a bench!).
When he starts talking, it is a river of incredible stories and anecdotes about life and the many people he has known. He also wrote a book but it got stolen…
A deep passion for reportage, Giovanni Vecchiato has worked as a portrait photographer in the entertainment industry in London where he recently set up the “View my eye” exhibition, documenting the most suggestive places in Italy through the art of aerial photography, work also published by the National Geographic.
