Tenuta Baron (TV)
In the heart of a ten-hectare estate, surrounded by the rolling hills of the Treviso Prealps, Tenuta Baron is a “boutique winery” producing superb wines as well as an excellent olive oil. Ancient country residence, where the King of Italy Vittorio Emanuele II stayed several times, the eighteenth-century Villa Persicini dominates the park of olive trees, embraced by the vineyards surrounding it. A panoramic landscape with an endless view, celebrated by artists and poets, that brings together all the beauty of this corner of Venetian paradise in a single horizon, from the summit of Monte Grappa to the enchanting expanse of the Venetian lagoon. Beauty is at home here, in a magnificent balance between a rich and generous nature and the historicity of the buildings, restored with great sensitivity by the owner, the entrepreneur Domenico “Nico” Baron, who bought the property forty years ago making his bucolic dreams come true. A work in progress that continues day after day since 1970, taking care and expanding a natural eco-system which is constantly evolving. Today the estate is managed with love and attention by his wife Enrica, the sons of Nico, and Andrea who deals with the management of the property.
Among ancient trees, fairytale lakes hidden among the vineyards and colored flowers, Villa Persicini is the company headquarters. Furnished with elegance, the Villa combines a traditional country flavor with a timeless sobriety, thanks to the taste of the Baron family, involved for many years in furniture, design, and antiques. Every detail reveals a little bit of history of this place, such as the precious wooden furniture, or the paintings and vintage photos that decorate the walls. Among many an old postcard, dated 1909, stands out. It portrays Villa Persicini and its magnificent vineyards at that time. An original document found, by chance, at the renowned antique market of Asolo, the unmissable event for the most demanding antique lovers.
The storage cellar is located in the north of the property, dug into a hill to create a naturally air-conditioned environment, with temperatures ranging between 19 ° and 20 °, thus ensuring an optimal conservation of wines. The aging of red wines in wood, however, takes place in the ancient cellar of the Villa, located in the central body, which was dug by hand during the period of construction of the estate. Protected by thick walls in original stones, the oak barriques rest for months, sometimes even years, bringing to perfection the magic of aromas and perfumes. The ancient horse stables today host a refined tasting room where wine and design are harmoniously combined. According to the deep passion for aesthetics and design of the owners, the company has launched a creative project named “have fun” that involves fashion brands, design universities and international artists in the creation of unique bottles just loved by wine collectors.
The Tenuta Baron is located in an excellent position to explore the beauty of an area rich in charm, art, and history just beside Asolo, a charming medieval village home to the famous antique market, and a stone away from the birthplace of the famous sculptor Antonio Canova, the pretty Possagno. Here you will find a precious collection of his most famous works, kept in the Gypsotheca, which organizes, every first Saturday of the month, suggestive candlelight visits followed by a romantic dinner.
